About Flushing

Flushing is a village in the north-central part of the New York City borough of Queens, in the United States. While much of the village is residential, Downtown Flushing, centered on the northern end of Main Street, is a large commercial and retail area. The population is around 110,000. The climate is cold and damp in winter and hot and humid in summer. Flushing has many landmark buildings. All the public parks and playgrounds in Flushing are supervised by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Flushing Meadows-Corona Park contains Queens Museum of Art, which has a scale model of New York which is the largest architectural model in the world. There are 5 other parks. New York City is 30 minutes away.
