Kosher Culinary Destination in Maine

Gather a group of friends and participate in a unique kosher, hands-on week-long culinary experience in Bar Harbor, Maine at the beautiful Shore Path Cottage on the ocean and adjacent to Acadia, National Park, voted America’s favorite. Still owned and operated by the Chester family, the Shore Path Cottage, for many years a favorite B & B destination for kosher travelers, has segued into hosting groups who  are invited to treat themselves to a physically, emotionally and spiritually nourishing week,  around the theme of “Cook, Eat, Play”.
 
Following breakfast, our resident professional chef will instruct participants beginning with the fine art of sourdough bread, amazing salads, soups, fish dishes side dishes spreads and deserts. Sessions will include a full week of gourmet, healthy meals with vegan options in the COOK segment of this experience, including a discussion of various herbs and spices favored by different cultures and ethnicities.
 
Participants will EAT the food they have helped prepare and discuss how they might modify and individualize recipes to accommodate particular tastes and preferences. During the PLAY segment in the afternoon you can chose among the many activities in Acadia National Park and in Bar Harbor and environs. Hiking, biking and sailing, guided tours and sightseeing are a few of the many activities, surrounded by arguably the most beautiful scenery in the US.  Evening options include concerts, theatre, and speakers, or you may enjoy sitting under the stars around our fire pit enjoying our homemade ice cream.
Rates & Details
Accommodations (minimum 12, maximum 16) include private and double occupancy rooms, most with private baths and some with sea view.  All meals, snacks, accommodations and instruction are included in the rate of $2500/per person/per week plus the 9% Maine sales tax. Reservations available from May for the 2024 season
