DESTINATION INFORMATION
Hubbard Glacier – Hubbard is one of the largest glaciers to be seen on an Alaska cruise. It sits over 300 feet above the water and is 6 miles wide.
Icy Strait Point- Icy Strait Point is the port for adventure. Fly down the world’s largest ZipRider, whale-watch in the nutrient-rich waters of Port Frederick and Point Adolphus, search for the coastal brown bears that inhabit the area, and soar high above in a helicopter.
Juneau- For years Juneau’s livelihood, like that of many cities in Alaska, was tied to mining. The city itself is built on tailings from the A-J mine whose shafts perforate the hillside above town. Because it is Alaska’s capital, Juneau prospers through government work and tourism. This is a great place to sample salmon baked over an alderwood fire, pan for gold, and hike the massive Juneau Icefield. If you feel the need for speed, hop on a sled and let a dog team pull you across the surface of a glacier.
Skagway – Skagway is a compact city in southeast Alaska, set along the popular cruise route the Inside Passage. It’s home to gold-rush-era buildings, now preserved as part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. The White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad runs vintage locomotives past the famously steep Chilkoot trail and offers sweeping mountain views during its climb toward Canada.
Ketchikan- In the heart of the Tongass National Forest, immerse yourself in Tlingit Indian culture and view the world’s largest collection of totem poles; kayak the colorful waterfront and stroll the boardwalk that once led to Ketchikan’s red light district.
Inside Passage – Shaped by the staggering force of massive glaciers millions of years ago, Alaska’s Inside Passage stretches 500 miles along the Pacific Ocean and boasts wildlife-filled fjords, tidewater glaciers, and lush island scenery.
Vancouver – As British Columbia’s largest city, Vancouver is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and cosmopolitan adventurers alike.
