Batumi (/bɑːˈtuːmi/; Georgian: ბათუმი) is the second-largest city of Georgia and the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, located on the coast of the Black Sea in Georgia’s southwest. It is situated in a subtropical zone at the foot of the Caucasus. Much of Batumi’s economy revolves around tourism and gambling (nicknamed “The Las Vegas of the Black Sea”), but the city is also an important sea port and includes industries like shipbuilding, food processing and light manufacturing.

 

Since 2010, Batumi has been transformed by the construction of modern high-rise buildings, as well as the restoration of classical 19th-century edifices lining its historic Old Town.

Day 1; Monday: Tel Aviv Flight [2hrs] to Batumi

 

Arrive in  Batumi Airport & 20 min Transfer to hotel for check in  

 

In the evening we head out for an evening Boat cruise and sail along the length of the City to see the vibrant and beautiful panoramic view of the bright and colorful Batumi shoreline and after a stroll on the waterfront we head back to the hotel for Dinner.

 

Day 2; Tuesday: Batumi Panoramic City Tour "Pearl of the Caucasus".

 

We will start at Europa Square on the promenade along the shores of Batumi, continue up to the Alphabet Tower, from there to the Ali and Nino exhibit, Seaside Park, walking tour the streets of the Old City, and then a magnificent 2.5km Argo cable car ride up the mountain and enjoy panoramic city views. We complete the day with Batumi's spectacular dolphin show at Batumi’s newest Dolphinarium

 

Day 3; Wednesday:  Botanical Gardens, Shekvetili Dendrological Park, Musical Park

 

Today is Stunning Gardens and Appreciate Nature Day

 

Visit the Green cape and Batumi's beautiful Botanical Gardens, where unique flowers and plant species grow from around the world.
 

Shekvetili Dendrological Park is a rare park with significant aesthetic, ecological and scientific importance, it lures even more visitors to this touristic Black Sea region with its unique collection of plants from around the world that serve as a habitat for endangered flocks of birds. In the center of the park is an artificial lake which is home to pink and red flamingos, cranes, storks, ducks, parrots, peacocks and swans

 

The Musicians’ Park offers cognitive entertainment that will make the experience most memorable. Woodcarvings, Water fountains, Japanese Gardens and more

Day 4; Thursday:   Jeep tour to the Mtirala National  Reserve & Machakhela Valley.

 

We will set out for a nature reserve that is spectacular in its beauty, rich in vegetation and water.

 

We will enter the reserve in SUVs, walk in the green rainforest and enjoy this extraordinary experience of wild nature and views

 

Enjoy a range of activities on offer that suit your adventure level: horse riding, ziplines, 3km hike to the waterfall, ATV or simply relax in the lush rain forest.

 

Day 5; Friday: Free day for Shopping and Preparation for Shabbat

 

Free time today to visit the shopping malls and local markets in Batumi: 'Batumi Mall' and 'Metro City'. Enjoy a realx day at the hotel Spa, Pool, Sauna, Massage treatments

Day 6: Shabbat 

 

We walk and visit The Great Synagogue built in 1904. After Mincha, Rabbi Zeev Mendelzon to speak to our group about The Jewish community in Georgia. Bus pick up after Ma’ariv and Havdala

 

Day 7; Sunday: Gonio Fortress, Mirveti Village, Makhuntseti Falls, Ajarian Winery Kosher Tasting

 

We start the day with a drive to the ancient Gonio Fortress, the largest remnant of Roman-Byzantine military architecture

 

One of the must-visit attractions is Makhuntseti waterfall. This is one of the highest waterfalls 36meters in Ajara and attracts many visitors with its marvelous beauty. While visiting the waterfall make sure to take a look at Queen Tamara’s arch bridge

 

Keda municipality is considered to be a hotbed of Adjarian wine-making and we make a final stop for Georgia’s only Kosher wine.

 

Day 8; Monday: Check Out, Breakfast and Departure home to TLV
