SKIING/SNOWBOARDING

What sets Mammoth Mountainapart is an 11,053 foot summit and over 3,500 acres of skiable terrain that includes heart-pumping steep chutes, wide open bowls, tree skiing, bumps, gullies, and wide open, well groomed trails. An average of over 400 inches of snow is caused by weather patterns from the Pacific that form over the Sierra. Mammoth Mountain is traditionally among the first ski areas to open and sometimes operates as late as the Fourth of July.

 

Winter Sporting Good Stores and Rentals

Mammoth is known as one of the world's best resorts for spring skiing, sometimes staying open until July 4th. By late April the ski area is less expensive, uncrowded, and provides for a perfect day of mid-morning skiing followed by a game of golf, fishing or mountain biking

 

Snowboarding is allowed on 100% of the mountain.

 

The Unbound Terrain Parks at Mammoth Mountain is seven parks, with three halfpipes in the mix and is spread across 90 acres of terrain on Mammoth Mountain. There is Disco Park, Wonderland Park, X-Course, Forest Trail Park, Jibs Galore, South Park and Main park. Mammoth Mountain is the only resort in North America to offer three different-sized halfpipes: Mini Pipe, Super Pipe, Super Duper Pipe, (Olympic-size). Top-of-the-line pipe cutting snowcats, highly trained staff, consistent snow, sunny days and a long spring are reasons why the world's best pipe riders return to train year after year at Mammoth Mountain. Mammoth Unbound Terrain Parks are groomed nightly by a team of 9 snowcats.

Take a scenic ride up the Panorama Gondola and enjoy a 360 degree vista of high altitude Sierra Nevada peaks with a commanding view of the San Juaquin River Valley below. Have lunch at the Eleven53 Cafe and learn about the amazing geologic, volcanic, and natural history of the region at the Eleven53 Interpretive Center. You'll quickly discover there's more to do above 11,000 feet than just ski.
