About La Paz

La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur, a Mexican state on the Baja California Peninsula. It’s known for its seafront Malecón promenade with beaches, parks and art by Mexican and international artists. Many bars and restaurants overlook the water. In the city center, the 19th-century Nuestra Señora de La Paz Cathedral dominates the shady Velasco Garden. The Whale Museum has displays on the area’s gray whales.

Jewish History, POI & Kosher Establishments in La Paz

Beth Yona temple was built in 2012 by Daniel Berrebi in memory of his brother, Yona. Rabbi Yosef Gutierrez returned to Mexico and to La Paz in 2016 where he has been setting up a Jewish tourist haven and also catering to the Jewish community of 150 souls resident here.
