About Whitefish Bay

Whitefish Bay is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 14,110 at the 2010 census. To the north of the village is Whitefish Dunes State Park a 867-acre (351 ha) park on the eastern shore of the Door Peninsula. This day-use park preserves the most substantial sand dunes on the western shore of Lake Michigan. The remains of eight successive prehistoric Native American villages are on the National Register of Historic Places as Whitefish Dunes-Bay View Site.

Jewish History, POI & Kosher Establishments in Whitefish Bay

At the north end of the village are two Jewish grade schools: Milwaukee Jewish Day School and Hillel Academy, sharing the Max and Mary Kohl Education building. There is also a JCC the Harry and Rose Samson JCC, this was founded about 120 years ago, originally called The Jewish Mission it catered to the Jewish immigrant population of Milwaukee, as the population there grew and became more prosperous they moved further north into the area of Whitefish Bay.
