About Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second-most populous city of the United Arab Emirates. The city of Abu Dhabi is located on an island in the Persian Gulf, off the Central West Coast. Most of the city and the Emirate reside on the mainland connected to the rest of the country. Neighboring Dubai gets a lot of attention, but in recent years Abu Dhabi has become a popular destination.

Jewish History, POI & Kosher Establishments in Abu Dhabi

Since the announcement of a peace treaty between Israel and the United Arab Emirates in August 2020 there has been a marked increase in interest from Kosher travelers to visit the UAE.
In September 2020 an instruction was issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, to all hotels, informing them to prepare to offer supervised kosher food to their guests. It is now expected that many major hotel chains will offer kosher meals, kosher catering and specialized Kosher programs - Passover Programs in the UAE - Abu Dhabi and Dubai, for the Jewish traveler.

Currently there are two kosher restaurants in Abu Dhabi: Elli's Kosher Kitchen in the Aloft Hotel and The Kosher Place Abu Dhabi located in the Venetian Village within the Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal. Elli's Kosher Kitchen also has a catering service.
