About Hewlett

Hewlett is a hamlet in Nassau County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. Hewlett is usually included as one of the Five Towns in the southwestern corner of Nassau County. Harvey Milk was born here in 1930. Hewlett is east of JFK airport and west of East Rockaway it is 20 minutes from Queens, and 40 minutes from Manhattan by car.

Like many neighbourhoods in Long Island Hewlett was a place where Jewish people moved to in the 1950s, once the road and rail networks made it easier to commute to Manhattan.
