About Glendale

Glendale is a city in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 12,872 at the 2010 census. Glendale was incorporated on December 28, 1950 from portions of the Town of Milwaukee. It began to develop rapidly in the 1950s, reflecting post-World War II metropolitan growth and migration patterns throughout the United States. Bayshore Town Center (formerly called Bayshore Mall) was established on the eastern border of the city in 1954.

Whereas the Jewish community in nearby Milwaukee was established as far back as the end of the 19th century, Glendale a suburb to the north and close by Whitefish Bay only started to gain a Jewish population in the 1950s, there are three synagogues and a Trader Joe's that keeps a kosher aisle.
