About Seattle

Seattle has a rich and vibrant Jewish history that traces back to the mid-19th century. Over the years, the Jewish community has grown and contributed significantly to Seattle's cultural, academic, and business sectors. The city is home to several synagogues across the spectrum of Jewish practice, including the historic Sephardic synagogues of Congregation Ezra Bessaroth and Sephardic Bikur Holim Congregation, both of which maintain traditions brought by Sephardic Jews from the island of Rhodes and Turkey. There are also a number of Chabad houses in the city.
