About Allentown

Allentown is a city located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 118,031 and is currently the fastest growing city in all of Pennsylvania. Summers are typically hot and muggy, fall and spring are generally mild, and winter is cold. Precipitation is almost uniformly distributed throughout the year. The area that is today the center of Allentown was laid out as Northampton Town in 1761 by William Allen, a wealthy shipping merchant. The City of Allentown has one of the best park systems in the country. Allentown has many musical bands, it also has museums, art galleries, and theatres.
