About Bay Harbor Islands

Bay Harbor Islands is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is separated from the mainland by Biscayne Bay, over which the land masses are connected via the Broad Causeway. BHI was founded by Shepard Broad on April 28, 1947. It consists of two islands: originally known as Broadview and Bay Harbor, now referred to as, respectively, the West and East Islands. The East Island of Bay Harbor features one of the largest concentrated collections of mid-century Miami Modern architecture of the 1940s and 1950s, including historic buildings designed by Morris Lapidus, Henry Hohauser, and Charles McKirahan.

Jewish History, POI & Kosher Establishments in Bay Harbor Islands

The Jewish population is quite new and has as it's main minyan Ness 26 a Sephardic Community center. There is a building further along Kane Boulevard that is home to three kosher places. The East Island is also quite close to Bal Harbor which has a stronger Jewish community.
